How can we help our residents in Affordable Housing stay connected with others, remember to take medications, participate in their property’s activities, manage stress and stay in touch with the world around them?
AARP has been piloting a program using Amazon’s Voice-Activated Technology, Alexa, to combat isolation and loneliness in residents living in Senior Affordable Housing. Voice Activated Technology has many capabilities and benefits that can help our residents, from reminders to take medications and attend community events to playing their favorite music, telling a joke, allowing them to listen to a story and staying up to date on world events. By using Alexa and the Echo, residents have an opportunity to stay in better health and connect with others while learning and sharing new skills.
